Scolopendra

John I Thornycroft decided they would build a 30’ racing launch for the 1903 Harmsworth Trophy.

Scolopendra was  29’10” in length and 4’10 1/2” beam with a draft of 17”.  



It had a 16” propeller and was powered by a 3,576cc 20 horsepower Thornycroft A4 engine.
